The Piano Shop on the Left Bank, Discovering a Forgotten Passion in a Paris Atelier, by Thad Carhart. This is a gem of a book. I just happened to pick it up from among my unreads – maybe because aforementioned family member is in Paris now. (see previous blogs)
I’ll add a couple of other titbits here while I am at it. Not related to Paris though, apart from the fact that the randonneur cyclist now in Paris is in the photo and flanked by his brothers.
a rediscovered family photo. Early 1980’s at the family farm in New Hampshire.
a postcard which I found in a local community center. It’s of an Appalachian Mountain Club hut, Lonesome Lake Hut, in Franconia Notch New Hampshire. I wonder how old this postcard is. 1950’s (?) It looks such an idyllic spot and so “New Hampshire”.
