I recently bought a book titled The Book of the Dog, subtitled Dogs in Art.  Intriguing paintings of dogs, with or without their masters.  And by artists, many unknown to me.

For example:

Beethoven-Felice-Casorati Beethoven, 1928 – Interesting painting by Italian artist Felice Casorati

According to my book- “Italian painter Felice Casorati had shown an early gift for music, which was put aside for art.  When he opened his Turin studio as an informal art school in the 1920’s, a young painter called Daphne Maugham (niece of Somerset) travelled over from England to meet him, and eventually married him.”
