Oooh! Bettina, I love the term “reader’s greed”. I have fond memories of ignoring all responsibilies the Christmas before my finals at University. The cause was the Lord of the Rings. Sleepless nights and lazy days. Bliss (when I blocked out the guilt!).

I was surprised to see so many teenagers buying giant needles at Alexandra Palace. It doesn’t look like it would be easy to esablish a good rhythm with these. But then I recall knitting a huge jumper with six strands of double knitting together when I was seventeen. It was one of the first things I knit which I actually found wearable.

It’s good that your Glimakra loom has a home to go to, I hope it will be loved and used by the next owner and that you will find a good loom that suits you when you have your new home. Parting with something so much used and loved is a strange feeling, but sometimes you know a chapter is ended and it is the right thing to do.

nice to see that you found a good home for the loom! and the wheel – though it must be quite a skip from an ashford to a louet? I started with one and still have my faithful, if slightly battered looking louet (though with spokes in the wheel) – though I have to say that by now I use my lendrum more than the louet. but it’s still the best wheel for thicker balanced singles for me!

same for me – every now and then I watch my account at the library and can see that slowly but surely my number is coming closer:)) I was very tempted to buy the book at easons, but I promised myself to wait – and I still do:)) reading all three in one go is no good, because I cannot stop and will have a few nights with very little sleep and a few days, where I don’t get anything else done, sheer reader’s greed:)
